In the bustling city of Guangzhou, there is a unique open-air restaurant. It is located on the rooftop of a high-rise, offering a view of the cityscape during the day and blending with the starry sky and city lights at night. The restaurant's floor is covered with textured gray stone tiles, which reflect a gentle shine in the sunlight, complementing the surrounding greenery and simple metal railings.

The owner of this open-air restaurant is a meticulous person who always hopes his customers can have the best dining experience here. One afternoon, he saw a young couple eagerly walking up to the terrace, hoping to enjoy lunch surrounded by the city skyline. However, under the blazing sun, the metal cutlery on the table became too hot to touch, and the girl had to shield herself from the sun with the menu. A gust of wind then blew the napkins away, and the boy helplessly laughed and said, "This is too much, let’s go back indoors." As the evening breeze started to pick up, although it brought some coolness, the occasional strong wind made the napkins on the table sway uncontrollably. The owner felt troubled — the most beautiful view was right in front of them, but because there was no sunshade or wind protection, customers were missing out on the experience. However, he knew that without a stable and comfortable environment, customers wouldn’t stay long.

The owner found us through a short video platform to customize outdoor products for sunshade and waterproofing for his open-air restaurant. The next day, our engineering team arrived on-site, conducted a detailed measurement, and observed the surroundings. The ground was paved with hard stone tiles, which had strong load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for installing posts or tracks for sunshades. The nearby railings and walls could also serve as fixed points, reducing the need for additional structural work. After careful measurement, we proposed a solution that met his needs: installing a retractable awning with the T900 model. It can quickly expand to create a stable cover during rainy days or intense sunlight, offering both sun and rain protection. On pleasant days, it can be retracted, allowing the restaurant to reconnect with the sky. Additionally, we recommended pairing it with windproof curtains. When the wind picks up in the evening, these can be lowered to effectively block the wind, while still allowing customers to enjoy the city’s night view behind the semi-transparent curtains.

Our retractable awning and wind roller blinds are operated by electric remote control of Duya brand motors; The retractable awning of our model T900 can be up to 10 meters wide and extend up to 10 meters. The sunshade material is optional Spanish PVC fabric, which uses high-grade UV coating to achieve 100% waterproof and sunshade effect; The bracket structure is 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, and the surface is sprayed to make it more durable and have a better anti-corrosion effect. The color temperature of the night lighting is 3000K, which makes the dining more atmospheric while having low power consumption.The matching windproof roller blinds are made of Celtic brand polyester and PVC as materials, and the fabric is translucent, which can not only have a daylighting view, but also be windproof, rainproof, and dustproof, and can also effectively block the sun to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.

During installation, a few small challenges arose due to the specific characteristics of the site. For example, the initial attempt to set up the motorized mechanism encountered some delays because of the uneven floor surface, which required additional adjustments to ensure stability. However, our team quickly addressed the issue, making necessary adjustments to the mounting positions and ensuring everything functioned properly. Additionally, when securing the windproof curtains, we found that the railings were slightly off-center, which caused a minor misalignment. This was easily corrected with a quick repositioning of the installation points, allowing the curtains to function seamlessly.
